Historical Center: Santiago
Santiago has several historical buildings which are located in two main areas. The first is the Plaza de Armas area where you can find the Museum of Santiago, the Casa Colorada museum which shows the history of the city, the National Historic Museum, the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, and the Cathedral of Santiago, among other buildings.
The other area is near the Plaza de la Constitucion, which main building is the neoclassic style Moneda Palace, the seat of Government and of the President 
of the Republic, which interior can be observed on guided tours.
Cultural Visit
On the slopes of the Santa Lucia Hill there are many places you can visit during the day, such as the Mulato Gil Cultural Center and the Museum of Visual Arts, with many cafes and designer stores. Only a few minutes away, in the Parque Forestal, you can find the impressive Fine Arts Museum (Museo de Bellas Artes). This museum hosts regular exhibits, artistic expressions, and, occasionally, massive musical events.
Barrio Bellavista
The Barrio Bellavista is the symbol of the capital's artistic bohemian life. It is the gathering spot for intellectuals, writers, actors, musicians, and craftsmen. During the day you can walk around the area and visit its many art galleries, crafts shops, boutiques, and book-cafes. You can also visit the surroundings of the San Cristobal Hill, the Metropolitan Park, the Zoo, and La Chascona, one of the houses of the poet, Pablo Neruda, which is currently a museum. At nightfall, the discos, bars, restaurants, and theaters change this district into a popular and entertaining gathering space for nightlife in Santiago. (Turismo Chile)
